Keeping track

One of my concerns about working for myself was how I would cope with the admin required, given that admin has always been one of my major bugbears. I’ve been pleased to find that doing my own admin is not nearly as onerous as doing admin for an employer. I think it must be something to do with the fact that if I don’t keep track of what I’m doing, raise invoices, etc, then I won’t have any money.

After a few false starts, I finally settled on Intervals for managing my time and projects, even though I was really looking for something that was compatible with MYOB. I think it was a good choice. The program is easy to use, and I particularly like  Mr Pie Chart – the graph that shows me where my week has gone. The only downside is that I spend quite a lot of time fiddling about with it, to see what the program can do. No doubt the novelty will soon wear off and I’ll just get on with using it as a tool.
