At the Australasian Medical Writers conference earlier this year, Sarah, a freelance writer, mentioned that she had been contacted by several new clients via LinkedIn after she updated her profile in line with advice from a webinar. Sarah kindly passed on the link to the webinar, and a couple of weeks ago I got round to watching it. I’m still only about 10 minutes into the 90-minute presentation, but it has already inspired me to start a couple of LinkedIn groups:
- a PerfectIt users group, to share tips and tricks about using this Word add-in
- a Bellingen professionals group, as a space for people working in the local area to network, share ideas and information, provide support and discuss issues about doing business locally.
Already, the PerfectIt group has generated some interesting discussions about when and how people use PerfectIt, and I’ve got to know a few people in town via the Bellingen group. I’m looking forward to watching the rest of the webinar and getting more ideas.
